Artists in residence Spring 2024

Residencies

MORPHO supports 22 artists in residence from Belgium and abroad in 2024. In February, we made the transition to a new residency programme, from New Comfort Zones to Rituals for the Living Present.

Within this framework, we offer 3 types of residencies:

  • Development residencies for visual artists from Flanders/Brussels (5 months)
  • Research residencies for artist-researchers linked to academia (3 months)
  • Exchange residencies for artists from the country of our international partners (2, 3 or 5 months)

In spring, we welcome these artists in Antwerp (see their artist pages on the right):

  • Lou Cocody-Valentino (Development / Brussels)
  • Alex Schuurbiers (Development / Antwerp)
  • Astrid Vandercamere (Development / Brussels)
  • Nassim Azarzar (Exchange / Rabat, via The Mothership)
  • Shelter of Trust (Ondřej Doskočil) (Exchange / Prague, via MeetFactory)
  • Marianne Vierø (Research / Copenhagen, via Thinking Tools Research Group)
  • Dušica Dražić and doplgenger (Research / Antwerp & Belgrade)
  • Bo Wielders (Research / Antwerp)

To our international partners, we are sending out the following artists (more news soon):

  • Emma Joly & Younes Zarhoni (The Mothership, Tangier, May-June 2024)
  • Julia E. Dyck (MeetFactory, Prague, August-September 2024)
  • Noa Verkeyn (Tabakalera, Donostia/San Sebastián, August-September 2024)
