Maxim Ryckaerts works as a visual artist and writer. Whilst on repetitive walks in the city the artist collects residual material. An infinite accumulation of re-valued curiosities. Objects lost, made and found. Unintended traces later to be transformed into text, drawings or paintings. Exploring the fleeting mode of the things we see. Sharing an intimate tale of a city.

Maxim Ryckaerts obtained his master’s degree in 2014 in Visual Arts at LUCA Ghent in Ghent. His work was on view in the following exhibitions (a selection); ‘Also a House’, Haecken en Ooghen, 2019; ‘Ultimate Paint’, In de Ruimte, 2018; ‘Herzamelen’, Croxhapox, 2016; ‘Etcetera 3’ S.M.A.K, 2015; ‘Appropolis’, These Things Take Time, 2015.
