Lola Daels

The work of Lola Daels offers a collection of found objects. A curb, a window sill, a door, or holes in the floor. Objects found in the public space move through the private. A tension is created. New ensembles arise. With well-considered re-arrangements Deals blurs the viewer’s gaze. The spectator takes a distance. Are we looking at an existing object, a Readymade or a work of art?

Lola Daels obtained her master’s degree in visual arts in 2014 at Luca School of Arts, Brussels. Her work was on view in the following exhibitions (a selection): Open Studios, chépas collective and Maria Trabulo, Deegar Platform, Tehran, 2019; Souvenir, Open Studio, Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, 2018; I feel that we are no longer in Oz, group exh., Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, 2018.
