Eline De Clercq

Resident

Eline De Clercq (1979, Belgium - she, her, we) is a visual artist, painter, writer, filmmaker and researcher in the field of art and ecology. Her practice comes from a passionate curiosity towards nature, in particular plants and lesbian identity. She documents queer and ecological moments, and engages with intersectional artists to share stories and cultures in the form of publications, paintings, short film and drawings.

During her research residency at MORPHO, Eline will be hosting queer gardening Sundays for an LGBTQIA+ audience. Throughout these events, the Gesamthof, a trans and lesbian garden that also serves as a mini nature reserve, is kindly opened to introduce the plants and provide them with a new home.

In 2022-2025, Eline works on her artistic research project in the historical garden of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. In 2018, Eline founded Wool Publishing, a platform for diversity in prints. In 2019, she started Gesamthof, the trans and lesbian garden located between Kunsthal Extra City and Morpho. Her work was presented at ARCUS Japan, and at B.R.A.V.E. art space Brussels.
