'T_Cyberhol #10
13.09.2026

Welcome at the tenth work session of 'T_Cyberhol. Explore the exciting world of cyborg electronics, infused with the spirit of technofeminism! Together we can shape the future of technology in an inclusive and empowering way, short-circuiting patriarchal and neoliberal technologies.

For beings who are gender non-conforming, gender dissident, trans, fd, dyke, inter, bi, female, non-binary, or identify themselves CYBERFeministBIOHACKTransBORGS.

Initiated by Joke Caimo & ooooo with the support of MORPHO.

Soft Circuits

During this session, led by Rebekka Jochem, we will be hacking with yarn. We will make textile patches using conductive thread, sewing simple analogue circuits to create designs that change colour. The thread we use conducts electricity and, due to its electrical resistance, becomes slightly warm when a current passes through it. By embroidering onto this fabric – which has previously been screen-printed with heat-sensitive ink – the colour of the ink underneath changes. No prior knowledge of electronics is required. We draw inspiration from repetitive textile work such as embroidery; to be together, have a chat, drink tea and reflect whilst we work.

Rebekka Jochem [she/her] is an artist, interaction designer and creative technologist, born in Cologne, Germany. She loves to combine electronics and textiles, always interested in uncovering new potential at their intersection as well as discovering new aspects of their joint history. She also works as a freelance designer, supporting creatives to realize their artistic visions with electronics and code. She studied Product Design at the Hochschule Wismar in the North of Germany, and Contextual Design at Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

Bring your own lunch, as well as your favourite sewing machines, needles, fabric scissors, hoops, patterns and portable batteries.
