Qeu Meparishvili

Qeu Meparishvili (1995, Georgia) is deeply influenced by her country's cultural context, which shapes both her personality and her art. She explores social and political themes in her work. Raised in Tbilisi, she has worked with various mediums, including cloth design, videos, textiles, neon, and installations. Lately, she has been focused on creating three-dimensional clay sculptures during a period of isolation.
Qeu’s art delves into symbols, hidden connections, and themes like life after death, mysticism, myths, and fear. She translates these concepts into visual forms, preserving their underlying meanings in her sculptures and other works, each representing a reincarnation of poetry, myth, or moments from the streets.

She began her studies at the Film and Theater University in Tbilisi, then pursued further artistic education at the Center of Contemporary Art in Tbilisi. Her exhibitions include notable events like the Salzburg Summer Academy of Art (2017) and the Project 3016 exhibition in Tbilisi (2017). She has also participated in group and solo exhibitions such as War on Hold (2018), Oxygen biennial (2019), and more recently, Loneliness of Shared Celebrations, Formal Moral of Traditions in Bari (2022), FIVEROOMFLAT in Tbilisi (2022), and Quiet! Someone's Singing on a Mountain… in Tbilisi (2023), along with group exhibitions like Tsinamdzgvrishvili 49 / Mazniashvili 10 at LC Queisser (2023).
