Homesick Tea Gathering
26.10.2025
As part of her research residency at MORPHO, artist Eline De Clercq organised a series of Queer Gardening Sessions, during which she gradually said goodbye to Gesamthof, a trans & lesbian garden that is ceasing to exist because the garden is being repurposed.
On Sunday 26 October, the very last Sunday gardening session will take place, with the Homesick Tea Gathering as a celebratory closure. Everyone is welcome!
-
From 14:00, wild flowers, plants and seeds from the garden will be distributed so that they can find a new home in other gardens. At 15:00, there will be a free guided tour (+- 45') of the garden, where you can learn more about the plants present and their ecological value.
-
From 16:00-18:00 you can join us at the tea table or on the picnic blanket during the Homesick Tea Gathering for a cup of tea in memory of someone we miss. The tea will be prepared by Kapinga Muela Kabeya, Koyuki Kazahaya and Aïcha Ouattara. While drinking tea, we will reminisce and share our experiences to give the emptiness a place. Bring a tea with a memory, as well as your favourite cup.
Eline will also bring souvenirs in the form of fabric patches with slogans linking activism and gardening, and a poster in memory of the Gesamthof. All proceeds from the souvenirs will go to solidarity initiatives.
