Stan Van Rompaey

Resident

Stan Van Rompaey (1999, Belgium) is a graphic designer, publisher, author, and lecturer. She teaches graphic design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, and was awarded for her treatise 'Notes on Bimbos and Bodybuilders' (2022), a book illustrated with 214 images largely ransacked from Wikimedia Commons, her preferred source of information slash inspiration. Stan has been responsible for the graphic design of MORPHO’s open calls since 2023.

During her residency at MORPHO, Stan will pick up an idea she’s been sitting on for four years: expanding on the World Wide Web’s founding suggestion, “Let’s Share What We Know”, with the principle of individuation.

Stan is affiliated with, or collaborates, in various capacities, with Damien & The Love Guru, Birthday, Felony & Fuss, COUR, and Julie Kegels. Her work has been featured in publications such as Metropolis M, rekto:verso, and Violet Papers. And she has given and moderated lectures at La Cambre, Cloud Seven, Sint-Lucas Ghent, among others.
