In a discursive and performative group session, we become vocal argonauts, exploring transitions through the lens of changing voices. What does it mean to have a “passing” voice? What qualities make a voice sound more masculine, more feminine, or somewhere in between? How do social expectations shape the way we hear ourselves and our own voice?

Inspired by the idea of the trans person as a ventriloquist, voices come from unexpected places, we try on imagined voices and movements. With microphones, props, and small recording tools, we locate our voices elsewhere: in the body, in space, in each other.
