June in the monastery garden

Every last weekend of the summer months of June, July, August and September, our green monastery garden comes to life. Together with Kunsthal Extra City and many other partners, we put together a diverse programme of performances, workshops, film screenings, brunches, concerts, artist talks, ... See below for what happens in June.

☼ 24.06.2022 ☼

17:00 - Just Like Arcadia (If you face the South, Moscow will be far behind)

In the framework of Bodies of Work by Curatorial Studies, Alexandra Tryanova invites the artists Simon Fujiwara, Anna Jermolaeva, Nikolay Karabinovych, Yuri Leiderman and Voin de Voin & Hanayo for an exhibition in the chapel of Extra City.

20:00 - Opening party Revolting Times with DJ Lelijke Venus

Until midnight, we'll be kicking off our summer programme with a party and DJ set by DJ Lelijke Venus, a tribute to all the soft, strong, quirky 'wxmen' who don't fit into any models.

11:00 - Baya Collective, Candied Conversations

Baya Collective invites you to join them at a lavish table where stories are woven into meals. Until 14:00 they host the first session with Kapinga Josephine Muela Kabeya.

14:00 - Kinga Jaczewska, In Search of Bodily Expression

Dancer-choreographer Kinga Jaczewska presents a +16 movement workshop with the aim of activating awareness of your body. Until 16:00.

16:00 - Sadrie Alves & Hussein Shikha, Tales of Symbologies.

In this workshop, visual artists Sadrie Alves & Hussein Shikha show you how to practice the ancient crafts and symbols of tapestry and woodblock.

20:30 - Take Over, Sun Down - Screen Down.

Join us until 23:00 for open-air film screenings in the garden, preceded by an artist talk with the filmmakers.

14:00 - Kinga Jaczewska, Can your hand become a paw and your nose an elephant's trunk?

Dancer-choreographer Kinga Jaczewska organises a movement workshop for children between 8 and 14 years, where yoga and body expression are practised in a playful way.
