Fluting Session
02.04.2025
Workshop
Come and join the Fluting Session, a workshop by Hannah Todt.
When two or more independent voices interact with each other, this could be described as polyphony. In order to create a shared musical form, each voice takes up space when it is available or withdraws to allow the others to be heard.
This workshop invites participants to explore collective practices through polyphony, playing together and exploring the connections between collectivity and breathing. When do single notes become a melody? When does polyphony become polyrhythm and vice versa?
The instrument we will play is a collectively playable steel flute that is part of Hannah's ongoing artistic research. The workshop will focus on playing and improvisation. No previous experience is necessary, just a willingness to listen, experiment and fail within the group.
→ We have space for 10 people, register by filling in the form.
